MERCURY

The interactive sculpture represents the intersection of various streams of mercury flowing under the influence of gravity of the planet Earth, which in turn sweeps through the Milky Way.
Frozen in time and space, a jet of mercury is at the intersection of dimensions.
It reminds us of the ancient Vimana - a craftwhich used mercury to create a gravitational field,
so the craft could develop incredible speed and strength,
allowing it to move through the Universe.
SONIC SCULPTURE : MERCURY

The sculpture is an artifact of the modern world. It is interactive and similar to a living being: it senses your presence, responds to your actions with sound and color. A silent AI that plays the role of a mirror for a person: how you present yourself, thus you will receive an answer. We are responsible for the knowledge that humanity has been keeping within itself for thousands of years, many of which are now being revealed and become available. We are responsible for our technologies and their development. For the kind of world we will build.

Monier Monier-Williams defines Vimana as "a chariot of the gods, any self-moving aerial car sometimes serving as a seat or throne, sometimes self-moving and carrying its occupant through the air
Information on the mercury engines used in the vimanas can be found in the ancient Vedic text called the Samarangana Sutradhara, that devotes 230 verses to the use of these machines
in peace and war.
TECHNOLOGY

To implement the installation, the most advanced technologies were used: AI, Smart LED, Artnet, RTX technology, motion capture, generative graphics systems, tracking technology, various motion capture and positioning systems in space, interactive multi-zone media systems, positioned multichannel and generative sound systems, machine vision.

Interactive software is developed on the basis of Open CV (open computer vision) - a technology for detecting, tracking and classifying objects. The technology of image sensors is associated with the processing of real-time video data, used to control sound and light, implemented by hardware or software.

MUTEK Festival
MUTEK.JP+MX, Mexico / Japan
With an artist-centered approach the joint program explores new virtual playgrounds in order to overcome the current physical disconnection through the convergence of the two artistic communities of Japan and Mexico. For 5 continuous days MUTEK's virtual festival platform will see more than 35 performances across 3 virtual stages, an interactive Gallery exhibiting more than 19 cutting-edge digital artworks from Mexico, Japan and around the globe, a series of lectures, talks and master classes in a virtual Digi Lab format, and a Listening Room with non-stop selections from the MUTEK network's archives. The Mexican-Japanese core will be extended through the MUTEK Connect series, which provides space for collaborations with the global MUTEK branches and our international partners from Insomnia Festival and Ekko Festival in Norway, Club to Club in Italy and South Korea's B39/PRECTXE festival.
